William A. Sohigian is a civil litigator with experience in insurance coverage, breach of contract, real estate, employment, and general commercial litigation, and in defending accounting firms in administrative enforcement actions.

Prior to joining Brown, Neri, Smith & Khan LLP, Mr. Sohigian was a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins LLP and Davis Wright Tremaine LLP in Los Angeles. During law school, he was a staff member and a Senior Editor of the Southern California Law Review and for one summer, a judicial extern for the Honorable Patti S. Kitching at the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District. He was awarded the 2014 Edward and Eleanor Shattuck Award, given to USC Gould School of Law students who have demonstrated the greatest potential for becoming outstanding members of the Bar and whose actions have improved the general quality of life at the school.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Represented policyholder in insurance coverage dispute over asbestos liabilities against multiple insurers. Three primary insurers settled.

Represented California Charter Schools Association in lawsuit against LAUSD over provision of facilities to charter schools under Education Code section 47614 (also known as Prop. 39) and its implementing regulations, the interpretation of which was an issue of first impression. 

Defended startup in wrongful termination action by former CEO. Case settled for mutual release, no payment, and capitulation by Plaintiff.

Defended Mexican affiliate of Big Four accounting firm in PCAOB investigations regarding audit work.
